Production Process
Production Process
We explain the manufacturing process step by step here.
This is an example of vacuum piping, but vacuum chambers are also manufactured using the same process.
Please also see the "Specifications" page.
We have provided step-by-step explanations in as much detail as possible so that you can consider whether the quality and price of the product are reasonably commensurate with each other.
Preparing materials
Once we receive your order, we will immediately order the materials. Materials will arrive in a few days.
Vacuum flanges are usually shipped in plastic bags.
We remove it from the bag and check for any damage.
Scratches on the vacuum seal surface can cause leaks, so we carefully check that the vacuum seal surface is clean.
NW flanges and CF flanges have protective covers made of resin, so they are unlikely to get scratched.
Additionally, this protective cover remains attached for protection while the process progresses, and the product is delivered with it attached when it is delivered to you.
Cutting pipes
In order to streamline production, we often purchase pipes in long lengths.
We often purchase in 4 meters as the standard length of .
In other words, it is a commercial pipe.
This yellow marking is a marker to identify the kind of material.
There are many types of stainless steel, such as SS304 and SS316L, and we manage them by color to ensure that you receive the desired material.
This is called a stencil, and is a mark printed on the product to identify it when it is shipped from the pipe manufacturer.
This mark also proves that proper materials are used.
We use a machine called a band saw to cut the material to the specified length.
We cut it well.
After cutting, pieces of chips, called burrs, remain stuck.
Burrs can cause injuries, contaminate foreign matter, and deteriorate quality, so they must be carefully removed using a grinder.
We carefully removed the burrs.
Welding
Next we weld the flange and pipe.
We have a long track record of delivering products to defense projects, space projects, power plants, large research facilities and manufacturers both domestically and internationally. Welding will be carried out by welding technicians who routinely manufacture vacuum chambers, etc. for such customers.
All welding is done using TIG welding, a welding method that is extremely reliable for vacuum applications.
In TIG welding, the left and right hands make completely different movements during welding, so the quality of the welding greatly depends on the skill of the craftsman.
All four of our welding technicians are skilled at welding vacuum chambers and vacuum piping.
In addition, all welding technicians involved in production have obtained welding technician qualifications based on JIS (Japanese Industrial Standards).
I was able to weld it beautifully.
The tolerance for the total length L is manufactured as shown below. (Unit: mm)
Dimension inspection
We check the dimensions to make sure they are within the specified dimensions.
Surface treatment
Pickling treatment is performed as a standard surface treatment specification.
This removes welding burn and also removes dirt and oil from the surface. This treatment improves corrosion resistance and allows the piping to be used for a longer period of time.
Leak test
We perform leak tests using helium.
Leak testing uses a testing device called a helium leak detector.
We install a closing flange to make a vacuum and use a vacuum pump to create the vacuum.
By spraying helium on the outside of the pipe, it is possible to detect even the smallest leaks, such as those that allow helium to enter.
Packaging and shipping
The completed product will be wrapped in a plastic bag and cushioning material and sent to your door.
Delivery details will be included with the product.
Items sized to fit in cardboard box will be delivered in our original cardboard box.
In this way, we carefully put our heart and soul into each item and manufacture it using rational, quality-controlled procedures.
Please wait for a while until it arrives.
